Welcome to the April 2007 issue of Dulcimer Sessions®!

Springtime and festival season are upon us, offering us new opportunities to play our dulcimers with others. This issue offers mountain and hammered dulcimer technique articles for “social” playing, a description of the dulcimer festival experience, and a piece on some of the nicest mountain dulcimers you might encounter.:

Sam Rizzetta’s arrangement of “Nonesuch” for Four (or more) Hammered Dulcimers is excellent for social playing, and comes from his many years’ experience as a founding member of the influential band “Trapezoid,” which trailblazed hammered dulcimer ensembles.
Guitarist Drew Andrews offers his observations on one of the largest of mountain dulcimer events, Western Carolina University Mountain Dulcimer Week, in his article A Dulcimer Festival through the Eyes of a Guitar Player.
