Mel Bay's Dulcimer Sessions

1. "Tribute to David Schnaufer" Our dear friend and important mountain dulcimer artist David Schnaufer passed away on August 23. In tribute to David we are including an article he wrote for me to include in my 1982 book, Anthology for the Fretted Dulcimer. It consists of his arrangement of the fiddle tune, "Texas Quickstep," tips on playing it, a little bio and photo of David in 1981.

"A World of Music for Hammered Dulcimer" by Jennifer Ranger, including written music and spicy sound file for the Armenian song "Daldala." This piece has the hammered dulcimer in a wonderful new rhythmic setting.
"Step Up to Performing - It Makes You a Better Player" by Guy George. It presents his original piece "Waltz for Nina," in notation and sound file. While Guy is a hammered dulcimer artist, the advice he gives in this article is equally valuable to mountain dulcimer players who want to play for others.
